Program Starts at 7:15 PM
Program By:
Atlanta SMPTE Section
Hosted By:
Turner
1060 Building
Multipurpose Room
Atlanta, GA 33066
Topic:
CROSSING THE GREAT DIVIDE (Vol. 1)
Building the Bridge Between IT and VideoTechnologies and
Personnel
Finding
ways to bring IT and Video technologies and people together has been the
program topic most requested by members of the Atlanta SMPTE section. The
September section meeting will be the first phase in an on-going effort to
address this issue. This meeting will feature a panel of presenters from
differing areas at the intersection of IT and video technologies
areas that are defining the future of the television industry. Each
presenter will provide a brief introduction to a topic where the lack of
shared concerns and understanding has made cooperation difficult. The
presentations will be followed by a discussion period where attendees can
ask questions or raise related areas of concern.
Based
on this discussion, Section leadership will develop a list of additional
concerns and issues that may be addressed in future meetings.
In
anticipation of more discussion than usual, the program portion of this
month's program will begin at 7:15 rather than 7:30. If you are a video
person, please invite an IT colleague to join you for the meeting. If you
are IT focused, invite a video person to attend.
The
Panelist/Presenters for this meeting will be:
-
Steven Kopec
- Manager of Information Security, Turner Broadcasting
-
Jamie Meyer
- Product Manager, Station and Group Products, Pathfire
