Next Meeting:

Monday, May 19, 2025
7:00 PM

Note special start time!

Hosted  by:

Atlanta Section, SMPTE

As a Section sponsored meeting there will be no dinner served.

Topic:

Trends and Challenges in the Current Environment

The Atlanta SMPTE Section has had an exceptional history of providing speakers and programs on a variety of issues and topics of interest. One of the strengths of this Section is the depth and breadth of the members knowledge and experience in the production and broadcast industries. Sometimes we overlook this valuable resource in our efforts to bring in speakers. This month s meeting is designed to allow us to share and benefit from this knowledge. We will have a moderated discussion on several topics of interest such as newly emerging challenges and problems, solutions that have been implemented, future directions for the Section, topics of interest for future meetings and anything else which may be suggested .

As this is an unsponsored Section event, no food will be served. Also note the starting time is 7:00 PM.

Turner Security has asked for a list of as many attendees as possible. If you know beforehand that you will attend, please send an e-mail to [email protected] by Sunday, May 18th.

News of Related Organizations:

The Peach State Chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers is reorganizing and plans to become more active. They now have a web site at www.broadcast.net/~sbe5/ where you can find more information.

The Order of the Iron Test Pattern has reorganized, with new levels of membership available such that those with as little as 15-minutes experience now qualify. The Order's Creed: "Through snow and glitches, dropouts, ghosts and now cliff-effect, we survive — undaunted." Those interested in the order can learn more at its web site.

Program Suggestions:

Is there a topic that you would like us to cover or want to present? Do you have new equipment or a facility you would like to show off?

We are always looking for hosts and presenters for our meetings.
