New Officers Elected
for Atlanta SMPTE Section

Following the close of the 2000 Section Election, the Committee of Tellers met at the SMPTE Headquarters to tabulate the votes. The following are the results:

Seminar on Digital Video Testing, MPEG Maintenance, and Digital Audio-Video Delay Solutions

Date: July 18,19,20 - 2000
Location: WSB-TV, 1601 West Peachtree Street N.E., Atlanta, GA

Tektronix, Inc., in association with WSB-TV, invite you to attend a full day Seminar on Digital Video Testing, MPEG Maintenance, and Digital Audio-Video Delay Solutions. The same classes will be presented on each day and Tektronix is providing a luncheon for all attendees. In addition to the seminar, Tektronix will have on display all of the latest Test and Measurement Equipment for Digital Video, HDTV and MPEG devices. The registration will be limited to the first 100 responses for each day.

First Session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Digital Video 601 Principals, Testing and Maintaining Signal Integrity

This session will provide a detailed understanding of 601 Digital Video, an overview of the different measurements required for Digital versus Analog Video, and an in-depth discussions of the test & measurement requirements for maintaining the 601 facility.

Second Session: 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM

MPEG Testing and Monitoring Requirements

This session will focus on the major areas of MPEG Transport Stream Analysis and Maintenance Requirements.

Third Session: 2:15 PM - 3:30 PM

Digital Audio-Video Delay Solutions

This session will address a solution to the advanced-audio problem most facilities are experiencing in today’s compressed video transmissions. With Tektronix’s patented Watermarking technique, corrections up to 2 seconds of advanced audio can automatically be performed on either embedded or feed-through digital audio.
