Topic:

Designing a Mobile Vehicle for HD and SD Production

Bob McGee
Turner Field Shop

The past 12 months has seen the long awaited explosion in HD production around the country. The Turner organization has been involved with this in many aspects of their operations. Prominent among these has been the development of mobile HD production capabilities.

In the past year, the Turner Field Shop has rebuilt one of their mobile production units to provide both HD and SD production and they are currently rebuilding a second unit to the same capabilities. Members of the Field Shop, led by Bob McGee, will discuss some of the concerns they have faced moving directly from operating an analog vehicle to designing, building and operating a High Definition mobile production unit. They will discuss the unique requirements of a mobile, multi-purpose capability and they will also touch on experience gained in operating the first truck that have been applied in design and construction of the second.

At least one, and possibly both of the vehicles will be available for inspection as a part of the program.

Directions:

From I-75/85
Exit at Freedom Parkway, Exit 248D. Take Freedom Parkway East. Pass Boulevard and continue to Ralph McGill Blvd.
Turn left on Ralph McGill. Proceed about 200 yards on Ralph McGill. Before the railroad overpass there is a brick building on the right. Turn into the driveway and follow it back behind. The Field Shop is at the end of the white building behind.

An online map is available here.
