Panasonic
Back in the mid 1960’s a major advance in television news production was initiated by the move from film to video tape based story acquisition, known as ENG. Almost 40 years later the next big shift is taking place - the move from ENG to ING (Information Technology News Gathering). Driven by an emphasis on video and audio compression, data recording technology, Material Exchange Format advances, metadata capabilities and non-linear access this emerging approach will again change the workflow and process of newsgathering.
Larry Van Camp, Director of Broadcast Sales Development for Panasonic, will discuss this emerging technology and the role Panasonic envisions for the ENG to ING shift.
