Communication:

For communication amongst Atlanta 2 GHz ENG users, and others interested in Atlanta 2 GHz, there is an Internet email "reflector" or mailing list, [email protected]

This is a "closed" list it will only accept postings from list members, and membership is subject to approval. Information on the list, including subscribing and unsubscribing, and an archive of past postings to the list, can be found on the list's web page.

Additional mailing lists (below 1 GHz, etc.) may be added if there is sufficient interest. (Let Andy know.)

2 GHz Third Report And Order
10 November 2025

The FCC has issued it's Third Report and Order on the 2 GHz reallocation and realignment.
This is important reading!  Read or download the pdf version from the FCC:

New Rules for Fixed Links
(from
http://sbe.org/StayDenied.htm)

The six-month stay of new coordination rules expired on October 15. On October 16, the FCC issued a denial of SBE's request to extend that stay by another six months to give broadcasters more time to update their incomplete or erroneous license records in the Universal Licensing System (ULS). At the present time, applications for new licenses or major modifications to licenses in the Aural BAS band above 944 MHz, and the TV BAS bands above 2450 MHz (fixed services only) require a Supplemental Showing demonstrating compliance with the new notification requirement. However, applications filed solely for the purpose of adding missing information (such as receive site data) do not require frequency coordination and can still be filed without the Supplemental Showing. (Such filings do, however, require a filing fee of $120 per license, except for fee-exempt entities.) Part 74 licensees are therefore encouraged to proceed with such filings in the interest of making the ULS database more complete and accurate. For further details, you can read the FCC orders using the links below.

Coordinating Part 74 Fixed Microwave Links in Georgia

First, please read the SBE Policy Regarding "Fixed-Link" Frequency Coordination.

The Atlanta volunteer coordinators cannot provide the PCN services now required for coordination of Part 74 microwave fixed links. It is up to each licensee to ensure they have met the PCN requirements. The FCC maintains an online List of Microwave Frequency Coordinators who can provide this service. Keep in mind that these are commercial entities you will be charged for their services.

No, the SBE and your local volunteer coordinators cannot recommend specific commercial frequency coordinators.

Broadcast Auxiliary Frequency Coordination is a service of:

SBE Peach State Chapter 5

The SBE Atlanta Frequency Coordination web page and mailing list are hosted, at no cost to the Chapter, by the Webmaster, Andy Funk, as part of his personal web site.

Should you need web hosting and/or email accounts I highly recommend the service I use, Lunar Pages:
