Accomplishments

  • Created and maintain newsroom Intranet "Web Portal," providing latest versions of newsroom documentation and consistent interface for online research at all workstations.
  • Developed and implemented safety program for Electronic News Gathering (ENG) operations that has been accepted and adopted by numerous stations and cited by the government of Canada.
  • Planned and coordinated live coverage of parade honoring Atlanta Falcons with 24 camera positions fed from ten ground locations and two helicopters.

Supervise ENG/SNG staff and operation of two helicopters, one satellite and seven microwave news gathering vehicles. Continually review and improve operations and safety procedures.

Technical planning and coordination for special events, routine and breaking news coverage.

Determine equipment requirements, help prepare capital budgets, purchase equipment, install new systems and train staff in their use.

Manage Avstar news computer system and train users.

Install and maintain computer software, hardware and networks.
